About DEYO

In the mid 2010’s, DEYO became aware of the severity of online scams when his friend had been scammed by a romance scammer. He became frustrated when he recognized the social engineering tactics the scammer had used. Not knowing how to help his friend, DEYO was presented with the perfect opportunity to begin his journey into messing with scammers and advocating for victims while listening to a radio station app. The radio station mentioned scam calls they had been receiving and gave the scammer’s phone number out. They requested listeners to call the station and tell their tales. DEYO called the scammers and they immediately became enraged at DEYO’s use of accents. When DEYO relayed this to the radio station, they asked if he would be willing to make a call for them to put on the radio. The rest, as they say, is history. 

DEYO prides himself on creating and developing collaborative relationships with others in this field as well as with victim advocacy groups, law enforcement and telecom providers.
